A new motor is the only way to really grow the class, and keep it around for the long term, and we need a DSH class.
Dan was driving conservatively the second heat, as he pretty much had the title wrapped up, so drove SMARTLY the second heat and did not need to win the heat, BUT them 2 Tohatsu boys put on one hell of a race!

This is what happens when a Tohastu runs over a Merc...

To be fair the swivle bracket holding the tower broke before the tohatsu powered boat went over the merc. I was not in it at the time. I was skipping across the water like a rock...This is why i'm in love with oregon race rescue. Thanks guys again!

Look at the SRP sticker in the bottom picture. You can actually see the cuts from the prop. Same thing on the other side of the boat. Coreys prop and skag were beat up, they just cleaned it up with a file and ran it as is.

I think it looked fast????? It wasn't as fast as a guy that wasn't even there?..... WOW was that ever scientific .....was big foot there? Clearly I jest.....

one thing is for sure the Tohatsu and Rebuilders of the Merc have spurred interest and new equipment on the water...to an otherwise stagnent class.

And Shawn the boat you have now is on the edge with a 44 think bigger boat....

                LOoking and thinking

You know I was just thinking the 82 Mets could easily beat the 1993 Yankees and I think the 75 Craig Bowman was a better roll-up driver than the 82 Nucchio

new equiptment always sturs intrest especialy motors, also looks like there is some more data for Bob Wartinger to support reinforced cockpits. Hopefuly Bass sells some more motors(move it sidewinder your falling behind)

Reinforced cockpits? Explain what that would have done in this accident. If I wanted to race in reinforced cockpits I would buy a tunnel boat. I think that rule is ridiculous. We are going to price ourselves right out of a hobby. We can't have a rule to cover every accident. I cut my leg on a fin in the inspection area, should we ban fins? Maybe require cut resistant pants for everyone helping? No shorts allowed? Rubber fins? Require they take fins off in the water before putting them on the scale? Put something over all props and fins or get DQ'ed?......................................

Oh boy...I'm going to have to disagree with the 75 Bowman better then the 82 Nuch

Next thing your going to try and sell us is that the 2006 Backus could out drive ....oh crap I can't think of anyone.... Just kidding Brent

Would a current DMH rig be close/able to carry the tohat ? (Would it help if it was Green?).....Not serious at this time....just Bar-Stool race'n...

                          New boat ?

I have been running DSH for most of this season with a Merc/Oconnor set up and have been able to get the boat dialed in pretty well, Looking at next years classes, I think I may put more effort in to the DSH. There is a new Tzoo package here in NewEngland and I look forward to seeing it run . I find the DSH a great class to run and the engine is not a lot of work ( other than the lift to the the boat.) Seems most of my boats are on the edge!! The 125 and the C mod both run well and both seem to be on the small side of the scale. Daren G hows your set up working?? Shawn

The top three finishing hulls were all B&H boats. The Merc rigs at 1st and 3rd were ordinary sized DSH boats. The Tohatsu rig in 2nd was using a larger DMH hull. While this was clearly the best performing and handling Tohatsu rig, it was certainly not ideal.

I was impressed watching JMK test it earlier as it was fast and he could run it in almost to the third turn bouy before he had to crack the throttle, far better than the other Tohatsu rigs. But he still had to back off so improvement is feasible. Cory was as good as JMK in the race and had a great pass on a laydown Tohatsu in turn 2 of the second heat.

We need to mate Cory's DMH hull to some of the features in Brian Plamquist's FEH. That accomplished, the Merc's are dead- just like Wienandt's dyno reports said.

I ran my DSH, sheered a pin the second heat (along with a motor problem) . A DMH is too big for the Tohatsu.........afterplane wise.............back to the drawing board.........
