Place Zanesville , OH Dillon Lake
Directions DILLON LAKE is approximately 7 miles WNW of Zanesville, OH on State Rte. 146 which parallels the east shore of the lake. FROM COLUMBUS - I-70 East, take Exit #153. Turn left at the foot of the off-ramp, followed by another left (north) on State Street back over the Interstate. Proceed 3/10th mile to the intersection of Rte. 146 (Adair Ave). Turn left (west) on Rte. 146 for approximately 6 miles to the Park Office entrance of Dillon Lake State Park. Turn left at traffic light onto Clay Littick Rd. and proceed about 2 miles west. Follow the brown park signs to the "Beach Area". FROM WHEELING - West on I-70-- Exit at Exit #153A, State Street, turn right (north). Proceed north on State Street about 3/10th mile to Rte. 146 (Adair Ave). Turn west on Rte. 146 and proceed as above. Follow brown park signs to the "Beach Area".
Accommodations Dillon Lake State Park - 28 Cottages, 100 improved sites for motorhomes or camping. Call park office at 740-453-0442 or reserve online. AMERIHOST INN, 230 Scenic Crest Dr., (next to Cracker Barrel) "Official" Mod Nationals host. (740) 454-9332. Ask for "Boat Racer Special": Double occupancy, 2 queens, non-smoking. MODIFIED OUTBOARD: NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - ALL MOD Classes. NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS: ASH, 20SSH, 25SSH, CSH, DSH, JH, JR, AXSH, AXSR. WEDNESDAY, July 11, and THURSDAY, July 12, are TEST DAYS ONLY. NO testing on race days. SUNDAY, July 15, is a make-up/blow-out racing day ONLY. SCHEDULE: Subject to change based on the weather, the number of entries, and time constraints of inspections. Our intent is to run class eliminations and finals on the same day, in the same set/flight.
Format/Rules STOCK, MODIFIED, JUNIOR: 3 laps on a traditional symetrical, approx. 3/4 mile oval race course using 5-buoy turns. NOT approved for records. Classes for NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS and NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS must meet Category minimum number of entries.
Prizes Trophies or Medallions will be awarded for National Championships and North American Championships. Points for Modified National Championships and for Stock/Junior North American Championships per Category rules. SPECIAL PRIZE: In addition there is a special $175 purse for the AMR class ($100 1st, $50 2nd, $25 3rd) for the top 3 finishers competing with Mercury Mark 20H engines. 20SSH North American Championship will be in honor of Travis Pond.
Registration IN PITS, at Judges Stand - Wednesday, July 11, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Thursday, July 12, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Insured testing ONLY after registration. Testing fee $20/driver to defray rescue and recovery expenses. NO mail-in registration. NO registrations will be accepted after Drivers' Meetings.
Drivers Meeting Thursday evening, July 12, at 6:00 p.m. - banquet facility outside the park across from the Dillon Lake Park office. NO ALCOHOL will be consumed at this meeting. Race Officials MAY hold additional, mandatory, daily 8:00 a.m. Drivers' Meetings in the pits. To be announced.
