Well at Depue last weekend we finally got to see a new Tahatsu on a hydro run. Jeff Yunger was there and ran very well with it. He ran the boat with the D stock as well as the D mods. Myself and Ed Hearn watched from shore and were very impressed with how it ran on the coarse. It sounds really neat. The 3 cylinder definitly has a nice sound to it. As far as performance and how it handled. It was run on a B&H D hydro. It lo0ked like on the top end he ran very close to Palmquist and Haunstein. They might have had a mile and hour on him. When he ran with the D Mods it looked like off the corner the Mod 44xs didn't have much on him off the corner which suprised me. It looks like the data that we got earlier when it was dyno tested was true. Better low end torc than the Merc which should help it off the corners. Anyway it was good to finally see one. The Bass brothers deserve a thank you for there efforts. This motor looks looks and performs well. The package looks like one of the big factory's put it together. I can't wait to see it run at the Nationals. Hopefully Jeff will continue to well with it as it should help generate a few orders for it in our neck of the woods. Mike

D Tohatsu and Parity
To Mike Ross and Everyone,
Looks like the Parity worked... thanks to all. The Western Divisionals will be this weekend in Oroville California.... the Tohatsu's will be there in force.
Word has it that some California drivers are interested in the Tohatsu. The current D Parity needs to stabilize so everyone knows what to expect.
Given that, the D Tohatsu can and will be the future of D Stock in APBA. There are currently 10 motors racing and 6 more orders. The Moses Lake APBA SO Nationals should see at least 6 Tohatsu's.
Good Luck To All and see you at the races.

New blood
I watched Jeff at DePue as well and thought he did very well with his set up. As the heats unfolded he ran better and better. This thing is a sleeper and has a very low noise level which is cool when it's time to go tests at your local pond. Hats off to Jeff for taking a chance and proving it works.Tom L.

Glad to here it was well received
It was really a pleasure when a new guy dropped by the museum the other day and asked me about running D stock and I was able to tell him a) that he could by a brand new motor that wouldn't require any further machining to be competitive (take note commission), b) that it would be a good motor in that class for years to come c) it would be a good investment, if he changed his mind he could get most of his money back and d) it is run in a class that is showing a big upturn in participation here.
I've said it before, big thanks not only to the Bass Bros, but to Ed, Dave Anderson and a few of the other commisioners that fought (and continue to fight) through the resistance to make D stock the up and comming class that it is, at least here in region 10.Moby Grape Racing

Just another tid bit of info for those Tahatsu team members. I dropped off 13 foot Ropp marathon boat to Jeff Yunger. He was going home to stick the Tahatsu on the runabout and has full intentions of showing up at Top-O-Michigan to run it at the marathon nationals. If the results seen on the hydro last weekend means anything. Look out as this package on a runabout will be awesome. I will personally give Jeff any knowledge he needs running or setting up for this race. As all of you know the Ross family lives and breathes Top-O and will allways be there. This race rules!!!!! Where else can you have a drivers meeting at 11:00, start racing at 12:00 and be drinking beer at 1:30. I incourage and invite anyone to try it. If you can't make Moses Lake this year put this one on your list. Mikemike ross
