Mod Nationals info and IOA Update

As the 2007 Mod Nationals Social coordinator I have some tips and announcements to offer my fellow racer before they attend the Nationals.

I have learned that Brian Williams will be the MC of the auction. I would like to thank him here first and commend his willingness to help make this IOA hosted Mod Nationals a true national event. I will be asking for donations for the auction soon so please start thinking of new items you can donate. All donations will be place in the race program if received before the printing.

I am here in Beautiful Hunting Indiana and we are ready to start our Nationals year. I hope to have results here every night.

ZZV MOD Nationals

Gents,
For those of you who have made reservations at our "official host" motel, you need to know that they have changed corporate affiliation. Recently, the Amerihost Inn in Zanesville changed to the Baymont Inn. All else is the same! Same staff, same location, same phone number, etc. All contracts they have made with you are still honored. It's just when you look at the sign on the marquee it will say "Baymont Inn".
Other news: Plan to attend our Saturday night Awards dinner and banquet. Adults $15 , $10 for children under 10. This is an "all-you-can-eat" Italian deal with homemade desserts, salad and drinks. "Donations" will be collected for beer and wine. Brian C.will have a great video media show. Trophies and Medals for Nationals and North American Championships. ALL other Junior and AX drivers will recieve competition Medals, too.

To all Racing Friends & Family,

For those that might not know, IOA is hosting the Modified Nationals this summer at Zanesville, OH. The Nationals Committee has been hard at work handling all the details involved in putting on a championship event. We are also planning on having an auction on one of the nights, much like TRORA did at Alexandria in '01 & Franklin in '05.

While the Nationals Committee is hard at work on acquiring "big ticket" items for our auction, there is a need for smaller items to help offset these "show stoppers". In that spirit, I am asking all racers to see if they can provide some items for our auction.

There are only a couple of guidelines for a donation:
1st new items only. We do not want this to be a garage sale.
2nd I am looking to try and keep a racing theme with the donations. We are looking for items that would be used either at the race site or on the race course. While a brand new dishwasher is nice, it doesn't really fit the theme (however, I'm sure my wife would love one, so please send anyway. ).
A couple of examples of items from the 05 auction were enigine oil, spark plugs, turn fins, cooler, ezup, camp chairs, kevlar pants, a helmet, etc.

So, if you feel you can donate something (or several something's) please email me (brian10s@hotmail.com) or contact Brian Cafarelli with the description and quanity. We need things for the auction, so no offer will be ignored. You will get an answer, one way or the other. We are looking to make this auction a fun filled evening for everyone and also make alittle money for the club to offset the expense of the Nationals. Also, if you want to donate and are unable to come up with an idea, please email us anyway. I have a couple stored up that might be helpful.
