  • Runabout driver weights?

We have 2 new ASR drivers locally and I have a potential 3rd. All are roll up drivers

The potential driver is a returning racer who ran ASH in the past. He's 180 lbs and on the fence as to which class to race. He wants to be competitive. He would like ASR ideally, but is that too heavy? I know weight in runabouts is not so critical and can even help you some times. There are no BSR's here and CSR is a big jump... is he too light for CSR?

Input please... how much do some of you ASR and CSR drivers weigh in at? I'm 145 out of the shower (too much info? )

180 is good for both classes. ASR boat should be around 90-95 lbs. CSR boat should be around 120-130lbs. I was Competitive in in both ASR and CSR(25SSR at 460lbs) weighing 180 or so. ASR roll-up and a CSR Side-fin would be perfect. My brother was very competitive in ASR at 200lbs. I tried ASR at 200lbs. and found that I can't drive half as good as him.
