Great website. Up to date, lots of photos, nice format.
Looks like they use awfully long boats over there! Also, have you ever seen a cockpit tapered like this?
"The engines are all made by Yamato (the letters stand for Outboard Stock Yamato) they are 2 cylinder, 2 stroke engines that produce 33BHP! although that's enough to get the boats to nearly 80MPH!!"
Hmmmmmm, I thought 67mph was good? Hopefully some one changed KPH to MPH without doing the number conversion also
Seen those style cockpits many times here in the U.S. Ours are not usually tapered so severly though. Their boats are long, but they are light as well. They also have a lot of lift built in to accomdate the rough water they usually race on. Basically those styles will not out perform our boats on our courses here, and vica versa.
I am sure there are a lot of threads you could look up right here on HR about the hull differences.
A few of those boats are of older design, and others are specifically designed for LOBMBC Club circuit, they race every Thursday night, tight circuit straight up and down, concrete walls to the Wherry tun buoy, makes it pretty rough after about 3-4 laps.
You are. You're shaping the case, cutting the head, and running it at 1/2". 80 kph is about 50 mph, which is about what the run in Japan on those tight courses.
That is a nice site. Makes you want to go boat racing.

I'm thinking, maybe Stock Outboard should create a OSY400 class that is compliant with the UIM format and specifications to compete on the world venue. I'd bet it would be huge! John Runne 2-Z

Stock Outboard is all about a level playing field.

John! John! John!
Aren't you supposed to be getting RID of clases instead of adding them in stock???
Now---maybe instead, change the SO rules to comply with Worldwide OSY classes instead. Yeah.....that's the ticket......
