the answers are about what I thought. It woudn't be my first choice for pro racing but My sled head buddy got that feverish look when we were talking about building a rotax. my self I think there is enough of a learning curve that it is smart to follow the herd for a while and go with proven better used motor.

I wonder if a few phone calls to the right mechanic could broaden the power band Maybe even a bolt on fix like pipes ect. I thought that the RAVE systems were tuneable...

Rotax rave valves are tunable, but not to the extent that you would be looking for. Trust me after the past two weeks here, I have been "playing" with them. A mere 15 miles shy of 1000 on the season. I should have that by 10am today.

There is a motor builder here in the valley that has many years of experience with snomobile motors. He has had quite a bit of success. Give him a call, he would be able to answer almost any question you have.

Even ground up........ so I will let you off on that one. Without some sort of clutch or huge adjustment to valves, the engines are pooches on a boat. Set up in a sled, they are monsters. Not saying it can't be done, you would have to totally re-vamp the engine to suite your needs on a boat.

LOL fair enough. Why couldn't you use the clutch shown in the picture? if the motor mounting plate was fabricated to allow an offset ? What kind of HP. are the 1000cc pro motors getting now?

I can't say about the 1100cc engines, but the New GRM/VRP 500 engines are close to 200hp on the dyno. The cost involved in developing a new engine would probably be more expensive than using existing technology. I would be hard pressed to see a stock engine (polaris/yamaha), be as competitive as the PRO engines currently available on the market today!

Well there is reason the 500's are using capsules. The 250's run into the 90's, so the 500's must be twice as fast!! I believe that Sean McKean's 500 recors is around 121mph with an Yamato. I believe that the new VRP's and GRM's can readily increase that whenever some wants to do it.

At the Nationals last year, there were GPS readings approaching the 120 mph range at the end of the straights in competition! No telling what a kilo record could be set at.

Terry Klemm just went 112 with a ROSSI 600cc on a runabout. A true 700 or 1100 ROSSI would run 130+ ON A HYDRO.

I've seen those Aaen engines in SCCA C and D sports racers before. They are fast, heavy/bulky and have a transmission or CVT behind them.

Now that runabout records are over 100mph, is it time foe capsules I think Kriers have one in the barn.

Hi Eric, I hope we can ship this week. I'm working with the transport company and they seem to think....this week. I'm excited about the new boat and 2007. We plan on testing in Italy next week with the 350 and we also have a week of testing planned in April for both boats. I'll send some photos in a couple of weeks. We are hoping for good season in 2007! You should come for a visit and I'll let you have a go in either boat!!
