The 302 tail cone is different. There are some who think that the 102 gear case is faster. This goes back when the 302 was first introduced to stock racing. I say baloney. You must understand the then 102 owners did not want the faster 102 gear case on the 302. The SORC will not address the issue. I suppose if someone wanted to provide some data from testing the two gear cases with the same setup and prop they might listen. Depends on who does the testing and submits the data. I'am not high enough in the chain as I tried and got shot down. Many races now have both 102 and 302 motors and would be nice to be able to exchange gear cases. I for one have broken off 2 skegs on 102 gear cases and cracked a 302 case. Shannon Bowman runs a 302 gear case on his 102(Dayton) I think he won that year.
