What’s the origin of our current race format, 2-heats, 3-laps?

  • #2
    good question!

I don't know how that started but I do know that at DePue, IL and Rochelle, IL Marine Racing Club will be running some 3 heat races. Classes TBD but will include SO, Mod, and J. All three heats count towards final result. (Stock Divisionals on Saturday at DePue will run 2 heats)

More boat time for same entry fee. That's what we all want, right?

I do know it was 5 mile races. Competition records were for 5 miles. It could be 5 laps, 4 laps or 3 laps. 1 2/3 mile course was the norm because it was faster because of less turns.
I don't know where the 2 heats came from.

          Matt-

I don't want to reveal the boat at this time, however, I've attached a photo of my '07 pit crew.

The same place 3 heats in pro came from; more time on the water.

Thank you Mr Phil for setting young Gregory straight. I will leave the speedos & thongs with Troy's crew. It appears they could use any and all help possible.
