I just thought a rule like this would make things a little safer for the drivers, keep some racing costs down, and give a new guy or gal one less thing to worry about. It’s under Safety Rules because that’s where fins are currently addressed in the rulebook.

I did learn that if you write something down and send it in, that people at APBA read it, and it could actually end up on the SO agenda.

Hey Jimi, I appreciate that there was nothing more than face value to your proposal. The years have left me jaded and suspicious, I apologize if it sounded like an accusation. I agree too, it is good to know that we are listened to. See you in CA.

i hit a good sized fish with the fin on my AH. 1 bolt just tight enuff so i can still move the fin by hand. the impact nearly flipped me and my boat. if it had been tight i am sure i would of went for a swim. i am not at all sure a brass bolt would of sheared before the boat flipped

We always use one bolt as well. I don't need two bolts, I can barely keep track of one.

        Ryan,

The story out this way is that you guys only use one bolt, not because you can't keep track of two bolts, but because you have only one nut.

I have noticed the same thing, Jimi, and some times they get improved and passed.

What do you think about the shear pin idea?
