    From Racing Outboards LLC
    Submitted by Ron Selewach and Ed Runne:

    Progress Update 5

    We're getting very close; a complete teardown of the engine after a hard 30 hours of running time shows that we have achieved our objectives for the redesign. We couldn't be more pleased with what we see. A full report with pictures is attached.

    Hope to see some of them running at Top O' Michigan next summer. This would be a good test for them and the B class sure needs a boost there.

      new motor

      I think this is a really cool thing to watch evolve, and the parties involved deserve a great deal of credit ... but as someone new to this sport (I bought an ASH last fall, will start to race this summer) I keep watching here and I'm no less confused now then months ago; does anyone know where and when this/these motors will fit into stock outboard racing? will this be more clear to me after the upcoming APBA meeting?

        Great progress report!

        Congratulations, Ron and Ed, it sounds like the plan is coming together. All of us 2-cylinder guys are anxious to get these on the water. I wanna' 20ci when they are ready. Mike Marshall, Raceboat61-S

          Sidewinder

          apparently the new motor will fit into 3 classes ...

          quote from "long term plan" thread:
          ASR/ASH: Implementation of the Sidewinder A engine along with the OMC and Mercury;

          BSR/BSH: rename 15SSR and 15SSH; implementation of the Sidewinder 15 along with the Hot Rod 15;

          20SSH and 25SSR: Rename BSH and BSR; implementation of the Sidewinder 20

          are there/will there be 3 motors? or is the A and the 15 the same with some sort of restrictor?
