A little info about the race sites

May 20, Springdale, Ark. (tentative) < Never been there....

June 2-3, Rockaway Beach, Mo. < Very good site for a boat race.
You can walk from the pits to your motel if you want too. If you're coming from Louisiana.... there ain't no good way to get there! From the north, or from the south if you are east or west of Louisiana isn't a problem.

June 16, Ponca City, Okla. < One of the best sites I've been to.
If I could only get Dan to move Ponca City a few hours south (and east ) ... This site isn't far from Kansas. Shouldn't be any problem for northern racers to make this race. Race site is just out of town - not far from motels, restaurants, and gas stations (and liquor stores ).

June 23-24, Okmulgee, Okla. < Another very good site. I've been here a time or three... Just a little southwest of Tulsa. Easy to get to from anywhere. Again, the race site is just out of town - not far from motels, restaurants, and gas stations.

August 3-5, Long Course Nationals, Racoon Lake, Centralia, IL < Everything that's been posted about this site is true. It's a very good site.

Sept. 14-15, Short Course Nationals, Lake Shelbyville, Shelbyville, IL < I've never been to this one.... I've heard only good things about it though.

Oct. 13 2 1/4 mile Close Course Record Regatta, Pineville, La. (tentative)
Oct. 14 3 mile Close Course Record Regatta, Pineville, La. (tentative) < What can be said about Alex that hasn't already been said a thousand times over? Absolutely THE best place in the entire world for a boat race!
    ...

FUN is the name of the game, leave the politics at home !!

Short Course means the course is around 3/4 mile. Nice short course to mix it up on. In case you are wondering, Shelbyville has a TON of room for manuvering. You could run a Kilo here if you wanted to.

Long Course. - Longer than 3/4 Mile track in principle. The few I have been to with NBRA is Alex, LA twice, and Centralia IL twice. Again, room to run a kilo if you wanted to.

So, fun in the sun, boat racing, girls, beer, what else does anyone need ! Last time at Sheblyville the yachts anchored along the outside of the course and stayed all day ! Lots of fun over there, and they had one of those radio brodcats so all the spectators could tune in the FM radio and listen to the announcer.

Both Nat's places are the one of the best venues in boat racing today. You won't be dissapointed witht he fun factor if you come out.

            Short Course Nationals

The short course nationals will have a course set up between a 1/2 mile and 3/4 of a mile. It makes for some very exciting racing for the spectators and drivers alike. The Long course will be a 1 mile course. This race site draws alot of spectators and putting a great show is key for us to come back again. It is one of the better race sites in the country. I hope we can get some more support from the drivers in the other organization or else we won't have to worry about it again. If you want to race for some real $$$$$$ and in front of a large crowd and have some fun COME TO LAKE SHELBYVILLE!!!!!!!

                      Shelbyville Short Course

I just recieved a phone call from the people from Lake Shelbyville. They have informed me that Eagle Creek Resort has given us a special rate of 69.99 if the reservations are made by June 15th. This is a very nice resort and the normal price is 119 per night. They are very excited about hosting our Short Course Nats. This is the same location where the Dock Party will be held Sat. night. Their website is www.eaglecreekresort.com or you can call them at 1-800-876-EAGLE. Ask for the special boat races rate.

                                Shelbyville

All NBRA classes will be run. NBRA class structure basically covers all of the engines in stock and mod outboard today. We just have some class combinations to shorten the program. It has worked out very well for us. The Briggs motor is an AOF program that we do not have.
