September 14,15,16th 2007 will be the NBRA Short Course Nationals at Lake Shelbyville, IL sponsored by Touchstone Energy. $4,500 prize money. Nationals on Sat. Regular points race on Sun. Open testing on Friday. There will a drivers reception on Friday with beer and food and live band. It will be open to the public and will be billed as a get to know the drivers party. It will be a chance to mingle with the huge crowd we will have for Sat and Sun. There will be a dock party Sat night at the Eagle Creek resort. This party last year was a blast!!!! The sponsors and local towns are going all out this year and are expecting a big turnout of drivers and teams. Everybody really needs to support this great race as it will get bigger and better every year. This is the exposure we need to help this sport grow.

See Ya There
No USTS race that weekend, so see ya there !! Hopefully this is posted early enough we can get some of the APBA guys to make plans to come over. All you IL guys need to come and try to steal away the prize money. Might be tough, because NBRA has some of the fastest around. Great Pits, good course, and my oh my what spectators, see posts from race last year, it is one you won't want to miss.
So with this is a challenge, make this race and support a GREAT sponsor and a great race. Your stock stuff and mod stuff in APBA has a place in NBRA according to the rules. So no excuses there.
Hope to see a lot of boats pile into this place. You won't be sorry if you come. Come learn from the ones who know how to put on a first class sponsored race.Dave Mason

Classes
We have most of the same classes APBA has some are just combined or have different rules. CSH is the same as APBA with no height restriction. CSR is thae same with no height requirement. 20ssh is called A hydro and is the same with no height requirement. We also run the Y80 on a runabout. The DMOD and FE classes are the same. We have classes for the hot rods. If you have it we probably have a class for it.Keith Kampen

Novice
APBA J class has been incorporated into the NBRA Novice class, with APBA rules except you run your own prop. Got questions about how your class fits into NBRA. Just ask we will tell where your outfit will fit in. I think were going to honor APBA & AOF cards. But I need to check that out. 1 yrs membership is $75.00. I can guarantee that the entry fees will be heck of a lot cheaper than you are used to paying. Insurance is from K&K. And our safety rules are at least equivlant to APBA or stricter.

Hopefully we will be able to atleast make it to one of the Nationals this year. I have a lot of stuff going on right now (Graduation and such is comming up, plus starting college in the fall) .. I would really enjoy being able to come to both but may have to pick one or the other. We are leaning more toward Shelbyville. Hopefulyl we can make it and give the crowd another boat or 2 on the water ..... Thanks for the info guys .... good luck with everything this year and I cant wait to see everyone again ...John Mathews @ Mathews Racing L-390

The NBRA Nationals on Raccoon Lake in Centralia, On Aug 3-5 will have $4,500.00 prize money. We will have the site starting on Thursday the 2nd with testing from 12:00-5:00 and Friday from 10:00-5:00 and if eliminations heats are needed we will try to run them Friday afternoon and or Saturday morning before the races. We had the 05 Nationals and 06 Short Course Nationals at this lake and its truly some of the best water you will ever run on. The city has budgeted more than ever before to make site improvements and they are excited about the event. The NBRA will honor APBA and AOF cards at both of the National races again this year.
