Rick,
My local (Detroit) shop is:
http://www.hardwoodint.com/index.html
Quarter-Saw Sitka Spruce:
http://www.hardwoodint.com/aasitsprucve.html
Their prices were in the ballpark when I checked a year ago. The wood they sell is defiantly high quality.

Sitka Spruce.........
can be found at Wicks Aircraft Supply, Highland, Il. ( "www.wicksaircraft.com" ). Click on " aircraft products", then click on " Spruce-cap strips & T Stringer ". I built a 1950's ASH and ordered all of the spruce from them. Talked to a nice fellow on the phone who made sure I got what I wanted. All of their wood is cut to YOUR order..........everything I got was arrow straight and very well boxed. Good people to deal with.DickTyndall 74-E
