  • Shelbyville, IL Race

What a great weekend of racing! I had a great time. Thank you ODA and all it's members for putting on a great race. The location was superb and you couldn't beat the hospitality of the folks from sponsors to spectators. The Eagle Creek Resort was a great place to stay and all one could ask for. Thanks to all ounce again. Count on me for next year. It's great to race and have PRIZE money!!!!!

    Huge Thanks !!!!!!

I would like to Echo Jack's comments and also add:

I have never been to a race that was so well promoted. I am still in awe of all that was going on in the park. This town really goes all out. A HUGE thank You to Touchtone Energy for the sponsorship. The Hot Air Balloon 50 feet from my trailer was a sight to see. All the spectators there..... the vendors, the whole shindig was a FIRST CLASS ACT. The seminars on using electricity that they put on all day Sunday was a huge hit. I can still hear that guy talking. I can still here the sparks. I simply can't say enough good things on how well this race was run. I think everyone should take a step back and learn from these folks. They have put on the best boat race I have ever had the pleasure of attending. The folks who do Shelbyville and Centrallia IL know how to build boat racing into the communities. It should be the benchmark for all.

On another note, the competition was fierce. A HUGE thanks to Macafee's. Kevin, Linda, and Larry... you guys exude sportsmanship. You folks are a part of what makes NBRA the best place to race.

And to all who helped this last weekend, thanks !!!

Race Organizers, you bow to nobody with promoting a race.

    Sincerely,

    The Mason's

      Shelbyville

I would like to thank all the drivers who came to the Shelbyville this weekend. We have worked very hard on this race for the past two years to make it a top notch event. It is a beautiful site with great prize money and excellent sponsors. All the sponsors keep asking is what else do the drivers want. They are willing to do whatever it takes to keep everyone coming. For next year I have a commitment from Touchstone for more prize money if we can get them the short course nationals. So we will work on that at the national meeting. Once again thanks everyone for all of your help.

      Thanks,
      Keith Kampen

I think everyone there had a great time. The sponsors were terrific! I don't think I have ever seen a sponsor so interested it supporting the participants. A big thank you to all of them. What a great effort to aquaint folks to this area and venue. I would hope that next year we get some racers that like to win something other than just points. It sure is nice to have some real bucks to spread around. The $3000 is a far cry from what most places are able to pay out and I hear that next year there will be even more. Way to go folks!

I must also mention that those who chose to camp had some really great locations. What a great place. Beautiful treed camping area with picnic tables and and barbeque grills. Sorry that some missed it!

            Thanks

Thanks for the kind works Mason's. I would like to personally thank you guys for coming. You are like part of my racing family. I sure enjoyed chasing Dave around in the runabout.

The dock party was a big hit with 8 ballon baskets blowing flames on the trail to the dock. It was a sight. Thanks Keith and ODA for a fun weekend.
