Part of the reason you can have a good commitment of 500R is that there is no USTS race until Raleigh. Adding the class next year may not yield the same turnout depending on how I set up next years years schedule which is looking like a Labor Day weekend race in 07 right now or the weekend after Labor Day. The class can be added there is a fee involved I believe it is 50.00 to add a class after the sanction. David has a good point they will not be on the water for very long and they will put on a hell of show.

      My 2 cents

But others do not frown while you have a beer during the race!! Wish my plans had worked-out differently!! Might have come-up with a 250H, a 125H and 500R. Hopefully, next year.

I also think if you would add 500R....the 500R drivers would each be willing to pay an extra 8 dollars so there is no out of pocket from the conducting club. I know everyone of these guys and they are good for it! What a great opportunity for everyone involved especially the fans!

Approximately 1 minute and 48 seconds per heat, if my calculations are correct...

                Heat Time

You know for sure that a heat takes more than the time on the clock. At the end of the day any race runs about 5 to 6 heats per hour thats 10 to 12 min. per heat, regardless of class, with tow-ins etc. So what you are asking for is 20 to 24 minutes per day. I really enjoy alky runabouts but it is asking a bit especially at this late date at one of the biggest races outside of the nationals. A lot of hard working people put a lot of effort into this event. I can think of a few classes I'd rather not see on the program and have then have 500ccR but again thats me. These things are decided at meetings earlier in the year. Come out the meetings and have a voice.

I appreciate your candid response. I am sure if the 500R guys had known that they would be coming to the Loch Haven race earlier they would not be lobbying for it at this late date. With some unexpected canellations at this late date it has freed up time for a lot of us to attend races we normally could not. We all hear what a great ime it is and would like the opportunity to participate. I do not think it is about attending or not meetings it is about enthusiasm to race with a different group of racers that we normally do get to race with.

Come Down From Yer High Horse

USTS should remember how many requests they have had to add a "local" strong class or two. Best of my knowledge they have never budged. Pro drivers should expect the amount of love received as given. Fair play.
I'm Also a Pro driver. We been welcoming you in MN forever. Not much has ever come of it. Shame

fair drivers, fast equipment (and I mean fast). best show on the water when there are 5 or 6 of them. 8 cannot be beat!
