  • Tweed,ON-Canada Excellent Racing

I made the trip up to Tweed this weekend and I recommend it for all you USA racers next season. It was a great racing lake, pits has plenty of room, hotel on site, trees for shade, not that far into Canada, gas station across street, package store one block away, big fair going on with dancing, subway across street open until midnight, pancake breakfast in pits, free water all day, coffee all day on site, three days of racing in two days-"ya baby"!, and the people are very friendly! The course was set up like a roundish triangle, excellent for flat turning runabout and hydros.
Special thanks for a great and friendly weekend, David Scott and his worker crew, the Lions club and all the new people I met Andrew,Gram,Chris, Joe,Rick,Jimmy,Al and anyone else I can't remember at this time because of the longer ride home! OH yea, don't eat powder donuts and get it on your nose going though customs!!!!
    Earl enjoyed himself buddys-AAAAAAA!

    Great too have ya!

    Hey Earl,

It was great to have you up for the event. I really hope that we can get a few more up for next year.. It will be a 3-2 again.. The reeve/mayor has promised to have all the weeds GONE for us.. We had awesome press all weekend. 3 papers with full coverage of the race. driver interviews, radio interview and great announcing brought better spectators on Sunday.. I want commend all the drivers on there patience - IT was hot!!!

The town was spectacular for us - they went above and beyond relocated our campsite to give us all the parking and pit area in one.. The lions club up at dawn to have breakfast ready for the racers. It was a great pleasure to host this race.

The drivers did a great job all weekend with only one boat over all weekend and no injuries other then a couple big heads on Sunday morning after the demolition derby at the fair.

Great Job too all, thanks for making this race a success and I hope you all can make the time next year again.

    Regards,
    Dave Scott

Thanks for coming up, eh! That goes for all the US guys!! Grimes', Pemberton's, Mizener, Natali, Rossman, who else? Sorry if I missed ya.

OVPC did a great job! Thanks for having us.

Earl... Did you get 2nd or 3rd on Sunday or is that an error? I know there was a DQ and these are prelim points, but I thought you ended up with 2nd. Good luck at the Nat'ls!

          Great time

Had a great time too. First race was a little hard on the nerves but once I got a few laps behind me I felt a lot better. What a feeling!!! Slept a lot better after first day of racing. I'm glad everything went smooth....thanks again Mike O & John for the help to get setup the week before. Thanks to everyone for the help in pits.

The Family had a great time as well...found a amazing family camp site named Tippers just north of the town. Had a great beach and little rapids for the kids to play in.

Thanks again to everyone who put together the race.

            butterflies

            Hey Dave,

Butterflies are normal you SHOULD have them before you race, it is when you do not have them anymore you should rethink what you are doing out there

To walk around the park and have friends in all corners, makes for a pretty special weekend
