  • Waterford... Thanks for coming!

I'm beat, but just wanted to say thanks to all who came and thanks to all involved. The new management at the park was happy with us and is welcoming us back next year! Tentative date is June 22-23-24, 2007. Mark it down! They also told me they will have an additional building with showers built in time for races next year.

The course was great, the racers were great, the band was great, everyone I talked to had a great time.

The pushboats were great too! I think we had about 12 entries. Thanks to Bill Blackwell for the inspiration and help there. You'll be glad to know it was one of your designs that won in the Stock class (stock class is 15 and uder) Mike Werner, 15, pushed it 29' I think. In the modifieds (16 and older) Graham Fralick won with a foam boat that looked as ugly as dogs butt. I think it went 37'. Not bad for our first try at this and I think it drew a bigger crowd than the real races. haha.

I haven't learned any results yet, but sure people will chime in on classes they know if you ask.

Sunday was gusty and caught a couple people off guard as the water remained calm. All were ok except Scott Moore in a CSH. He was taken to Simcoe Hospital, then transfered to Toronto (home town). I have not heard anything official but 3rd hand info said he was getting more tests for precaution of neck/back injuries. He left alert and moving extremities. There was no damage to the boat, so maybe he entered the water funny and pulled some muscles? Thoughts and prayers go to you and your family Scott.

Spencer; -being your 1st time there, what did u think of the tri-oval course. Your lay-down should have liked that dog- leg.
Tell me what u saw of the DHs. I have sketchy reports of 'DO' in a M58 scaring 44xs'

        Hi Brian,

The 44's scratched Sunday, but DO hit the start flying on Saturday and the only 44 able to pass (keep in mind it's a short course) was Dave Scott.
Sometimes a veteran driver can make up for a slightly slower motor with technical expertise on the Course.

        Best Regards,

        Eric

Brian, there is certainly some stiff competition this year in DCH. Everyone that ran this past week-end was dailed in and not giving each other an inch. Doug ran a great heat of racing with DSH but in the second heat motor trouble left him in the infield. He fixed the motor problem Sunday and should be as strong as ever.
As for my boat, the laydown on the dogleg had no advantage since everyone kept their hand in it through the turn. If the dogleg had been sharper than I might have had more of an advantage. Other than that I ran the outside and kept the rpms up and it worked out ok. I thought it was a pretty good first week-end for that CSH rig.

Well Linda, Murky and I just got home.. Want to say another great year at Waterford.. I forgot to thank Tom Utman for stepping up to our risk managers job for the weekend and he earned his points.. I am happy that they have asked us back for another year.. It was great racing, good times and great fellowship.. I would also like to thank all the girls who did repeated jobs on the judges stand. Thanks to the FV guys for making there comeback appearance on the circuit they had two good days of running as well.. Great to have you guys back.. So great work in the pits being ready to go.. good job in the rescue and corner boats with the flags etc... hats off to the medical crew and our rescue boat with two responses in great time securing the driver.. Scotty we are with you buddy and are awaiting word.. Our prayers are with you..

Just to let everyone know, just heard from Scott Moore, he is home safe and sound. after all the check ups it's determined he's a-ok with some soft tissue damage. He's a little stiff but said "See you at Tweed!"

                    Hey great time!

Band was a good time! Boat racer on base was hard to tell if he had more fun racing -or-......... ROCK'N!

I broke a bunch of stuff but most fixed already for Zanesville.

Stu looked good to me in lay-down. Got me think'n about converting one of my Altralites. Just wish I weighed 165LBS........

Second Altralite rig I just bought very loose in back and yamatos (y-80/202D) not pumping water at 3/4" deep. Going to trim air traps (?)..........May post a thread asking how-to and how-much..........?
Thanks to all that helped me out when rig spit me out in OSY-400 like a watermellon seed! (and waiting for me to make second heat!) Took a few minutes to unwrap kill switch tether from PROP!!

Had a good run BMH Sunday with the old 22 OMC winning second heat and second over all to Ross Webster by 4-seconds.......
Ross I can get your tower welded and maybe add some gussets?... if your guy not available.....Ship it to me and I could bring to Zanesville....

                    Dave..........I'm sure Ron was smile'n

                      Steve,
I'm not 165 lbs, this past week-end i was closer to 190 lbs but by the hockey season i should be back to 175-180 lbs

                        Thanks!

Great people, place, and this will definitely be on my favorite courses list!
Thanks to the Toronto club and everyone else that made us feel at home.

                          Thanks to Everyone....re Waterford

Firstly, I want everyone to know that I am OK. A little bruised and swollen around the next and lower back. Some soft tissue damage around C1 & C2 but the Doctors said I would be OK in a few weeks and that gives me enough time to be ready for Tweed. The people on the rescue boat, Ambulance and both hospitals were great. They took every precaution to make sure I was OK.
Thanks also go out to Mike and John who packed up my boats, and camp site and got my motor running again and gove all my stuff I owe you one.
I think I am going to retire the Black racing Hydro as it seems to want to fly. Maybe that is why I called that boat Miss Understood. I am going to get the Yellow Hydro back out (Miss Communication) and give it a go at Tweed.
Thanks again to all that helped on Sunday, I really appreciate the "Family" support.
                          See you all at Tweed.

                            Great Thanks!

                            Hey Everyone,

I'm not sure how many of the ladies actually read this, but I wanted to send out some sincere thanks to everyone who helped me this weekend. Lori Ramsey was up there every minute of the weekend helping me (she was actually up more than me, because when i was racing she took over). Pat France gave us all the time she could when she wasn't helping out Ron. Linda Musca (Scott) was working on the video equipment, I think she's the only one who knew what she was doing over there. Wendy Orchard, spent her entire saturday up working with us, doing the best timing i've ever seen. Beth French was of great supports as well. Thanks to all the J drivers who came out to help as well. Everyone else who helped out, I greatly appreciate it, because i wouldn't have been able to do it without all of you. Dave Scott spent every moment he wasn't driving up at the judges stand, making sure that we used every minute that we could to our advantage. Eric and Ted Abel were our referees making sure that all of you were safe and doing well. I hope I didn't forget anyone, i just want to give everyone a round of applause (including everyone who sat out in the patrol boats for as long as they did), and all of you racers for being as great as you are. We put on a great race and i hope that Tweed runs just as smootly.

I'm glad to hear that Scott, you are okay, you gave us quite the scare up on judges stand.
