Midwest Powerboat Assn. Re-Build program NEED HELP

region 8 is about four new racers shy of being a functioning club again.
To that end I have purchased a CSR/Trailer. I am going all the way to PA to bring this home in the hopes of useing it as a demo rig for new racers/for sale. I will also will display this on the highway FOR sale. Along with sale the buyer will get a apba/ Racing membership -midwest club membership ( AOF-NBRA ,no slight intended ,its what we got around here) And all the help from me they can stomach. I intend to sell this stuff not for any PROFIT just cost. I will maintain this rig as long as it takes. I really can't afford to do this out of my own pocket. I am asking for some one that has a spare 302/102 Yamato if the would sell it to me on terms to support this project. Also used props. Or compleat rigs. I am willing do this as many times as it takes to build up this region again. I simply cannot fund it all. I have been able to help Many Many racers have get started this way. I seem to have been blessed with a talent for it.
We are promoting CSR CSH as our entry level classes. we also have a fair # of quality DSH- DMH - DMR I truely feel we are on the cusp of having a re-birth here. Many TCPBA drivers have expressed interest in what we do as we race with them at several venues over the last five years.
We have all talked large about increasing our ranks.
I HAVE PUT MY MONEY WHERE MY BIG MOUTH IS. Can anyone else, PLEASE help?

Hey Steve,

I can step up with some CSH or CSR props. They won't win the nationals but they are not junk either. They would be great for someone starting out and I would part with them for about $200 for a new rookie. Let me know I can ship you a CSR or send it with someone to Franklin if you are going thier.

Hi Steve,
The Payn's have a trailer we can donate. I am not sure where it is, but we gave it to Jim Homfeld to use when his was involved in an accident. He has a new one now and I am pretty sure the trailer might be in Missouri.
We have sold "cheap" all of our stock mod stuff and have finally GIVEN away our last really good Krier hydro for a new racer.
Unfortunately, the region 8 Iowa guys have all gone PRO and AOF. If you would consider putting on the first race AOF, Terry and I would pay the $200 insurance and $120 sanction (2 day) fees to AOF to get us started. Of course you would have to add PRO classes to the venue. I am sure that we could bring some free Bud Select and maybe the Stahls would show. Mike Krier would drink anything. The Gryz clan would probably come just to race!
Sorry, but can't afford the APBA rates and this is just an idea.

That's a pretty neat idea to gather up a complete towable outfit and put it our for sale locally to joe-public! Sounds like you did this a couple times... ? Do you stipulate they must race? What if a guy wants it for a cottage toy? Of the packages you've sold how many ended up racing?

I think this would work very well in my area.

Why not try to make your races in MN a joint sanction, all three Organizations. Then you can have it all, and you might pull some folks out of the woodwork.

Just a thought since there is an apparent signed treaty the 14H presented in LA.

Steve: I applaud your efforts. This is exactly the way we have been effective in the past in promoting our sport. Billboards, brochures and TV are nice. But nothing gets new members like existing ones putting them in a boat and finding equipment. Thank you for your work on behalf of boat racing. Ed.

My aim is true

I thank you all for the encouragement.Those that know me, know that I am racing #1 supporter and advocate. Even when my speaking is critical, I firmly believe I am acting on behalf of this sport I grew up with and Love. Now If I can just find an engine....
I don't stipulate they race but sooner than later they all do. I spent a good part of the winter fixing a bottom for a guy in town here for a 25xs rig . he said he thinks he will try a local race this fall. I also aquired this rig for him and his son live on the same lake as me . found me via internet...
joint sanction work for me,however we will remain firmly attached to the opc club here. can't do it alone and this is so easy when we are partnered up. I don't care what classes run pro mod stock.
