In case you have not heard . . .

No one is quite sure how it happened but Shawn Brill fell at work
Monday and suffered a skull fracture. He has been through surgery
and is in ICU with a tube to relieve pressure. Dave Brill says that
they expect Shawn to recover but it is serious. One very positive
sign is that he does recognize people. Please keep Shawn in your
thoughts, especially these next few days, which will be tough ones,
    no doubt.

As I learn more, I'll update the IOA web site. Shawn is in Kettering
Medical Center, 3535 Southern Boulevard, Kettering, Ohio 45429,
    937-298-4331.

      Update on Shawn

Eric VanOver spoke to Dave Brill. Dave said the tube is out and Shawn is awake and responsive and recognizes people. Those are encouraging signs, though Shawn doesn't say much yet.

        Never did

Shawn always struck me as the silent type. Get well Buddy,
remember, that the work we do is taken for granted as being one of the most hazardous thing we put ourselves through. especially for the trades man. And don't forget the drive to and from. Al my thoughts to the Brills.

          The Brills

Shawn and Dave Brill were the silent force behind the 2005 Stock Dayton Nationals. They, along with Bob Laws, did all of the errand running and local setup stuff. Shawn was the guy putting the patrol boats in and out of the water, hauling around the air compressor, moving picnic tables and everything else that needed to be done to get the race going and to tear it down afterwards.

          Speedy recovery, Shawn. Ed.

            Great News

            From the IOA website:

"Shawn Brill has been released and has gone home. I don’t know anything more than that but that’s enough for now. Keep getting better, Shawn."

Best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery.....Franklin is only 9 days away.........hope to see ya there.

                Shawn,
Glad you are out of the hospital. Take care of yourself so that you'll be back in your boat soon. BMR NAC's at Zanesville in July ! Be there. Mike Marshall, Raceboat61-S

Shawn's recovering at Dave's house. Dave said he's walking around and is feeling much better than last week. Probably won't be in a boat until later in the season.

                    Send cards to:
                    Shawn Brill
                    1082 Roger Scott Drive
                    Bellebrook, Ohio 45305
