    Sport C

I wonder if a sport C hull would be similar to what you are looking for? I think they run 30hp Tohatsu's on them. A Y102 might be close to the same hp.

From what I understand, the Yamato Tunnel hulls that are run in Australia are based on plans that the DeSilvas did back in the 80s. Those of us on the west coast might remember the little tunnel hull that Bob Gibson in Region 11 ran in 20SSH.

I'd contact DeSilva and see if they still have those plans kicking around.

Back in the mid-80s, there was a large growt spurt in the OPC division for small tunnel boats. The only one that survives now is Sport C but one of the others was SST-25. We ran the new 25XS Mercs with both the short and tall towerhousings on a 10 foot tunnel boat, kneeling without trim and sitting with trim. It was fun and speeds were in the low to mid 60s- not a lot slower than hydros (6-8 mph) but slower accelerating but we could turn and run in really rough water. I thought Ric Montoya had a real Yamato boat that was a tunnel design. I drove it but can't remember now the exact bottom configuration. Tunnels are neat designs, especially if orientated towars a lake recer/play boat.

            David L-6,
Do ya still have pics of that AOF-102 tunnel that my 202-D came off of?
Was kinda cool look'n with the 2.5 ltr sitt'n on it!

Somewhere I have some pics of my Cougar Cub tunnel. Had a 25XD on it. Ran it with 9.9 decals on my 10HP lake till the Fish--Fuzz caught on......Was great fun but a 10 Super Hurricane on a 10 ft MFG cartop would still keep up with me! .

Desilva's did design a tunnel hull. The guy in Australia behind it is John Hudson. They still run a version of it. From what I understand, they have to use the factory 2 blade. The prop can be changed though. Speeds are in the mid to upper 60's in their race trim.

You can reach Ralph Desilva at 770-943-9494. I don't know if he still has the drawings. I have seen a pic of the boat and its real cool.
