  • Save Region 5

Attending the new race site at Altoona, FL April 22-23 can help open up many more race sites for region 5. If we make a good showing and prove that we have something to offer this site, there are many identical camps throughout Florida that can be open for our week end fun. (Through this government agency who has agreed to cooperate with us and boat racing).
Forget your AOF/APBA prejudices. In fact, at this AOF record race, we will honor all APBA cards. This gives each driver a chance to establish or break a new AOF ¾ mile, four lap record, new to AOF this year!
This race has been on the schedule for almost a year, so we can only hope that you will consider this a chance to support your local region racing. With your support, we should be able to build Region 5 racing to a race every week end, on truly quality sites, run by both APBA AND AOF clubs. How much better can it get?
You will be able to rent a cabin on site, for much less than any motel. (Get settled in, and no driving).
All stock, mod, pro, SLT, open. If any OPC would like to attend, please contact Tony Staron at: 561-644-1200 for more information and plans.
Not supporting this race can mean one thing: you aren’t interested in keeping racing alive in Region 5.

        Nat's

        Tony,

If they have no issues with the loud engines, maybe AOF should pursue the Winter Nat's there for APBA. Especially since you are already honoring all sanctiong all three membership cards. Maybe this could be the next step from what Ed is trying to do.

Tony, so this new race site is allowing all Mod classes? No silencers needed.

                    Bill,
Actually, we did not expect you to come anyway. Last I talked to Dave Bennett he said he would never attend an AOF race because he did not like the AOF scorers. Last I checked they are the same people. (Do both APBA and AOF races). oh well. Enjoy your drive and the thought that this "could" have been a good thing for Florida. (PS. This race has been on the schedule for a year).
