  • Orange Shoei Helmets

I am looking for a new helmet for Carter and am having trouble finding the good deal I had a couple of years ago on the RF-800s for Shoei.

This is all I could find:

    http://www.helmetcity.com/Merchant2/...Category_Code=

And they want $290. I realize this is a fair price, however I am looking for a GOOD price like last time.

    Ebay was the same price.

Anyone have any better places to look for SHOEI orange helmets?

    Tad.

I think that Helmet City is probably going to be your best bet. I've bought from them in the past and have always received good service.

A couple of years ago Mike Beegle found an eBay listing for the RF-900 Shoei's and posted a link here. That's where I got mine but it wasn't much less than Helmet City's price.

        Ebay has them

Ebay has them in orange in every size. This is not a very good pic but do a ebay search for "Shoei TZ-R Pure Orange TC-1 helmet size L FREE SHIP".

Give Andrew Fralick a try (he's a hydroracer member) they sell a variety of great helmets (orange and yellow) at great racer discount prices.....

A lot of the helmets worn by the Canadian Racers and Region 2 racers come from them.

I just bought my dauther a new shoei from Helmetcity. While the price is up there, I found their service excelent. I needed to change out the cheek pads, and they worked with me to do so.

I did have to go w/ a yellow helmet though.

                Krylon Fusion

                Tad,
If you have your sites set on a Shoei, find the best price you can on the helmet you want. Don't worry about the color. Just be sure it is a good fit and you are not going to return the helmet for some defect. Then head for the hardware store and get a can of Krylon Fusion spray paint in Yellow or Safety Orange. The stuff is formulated to bond to platic with little or no prep. You will want to mask the welting, face opening and any vents. Also cover the Snell decal. Shake that Rattle Can for 1 minute and presto you have a legal helmet. I talked to Krylon last year and they assured me it was safe to paint any helmet. A $4 dollar spray can will do a couple helmets. I just grabbed a can from the shop. I was wrong. Shake for 2 minutes. Good luck.
