  • KPH Rule Change

    The Pro Commission has been discussing for the past 2 weeks that there might be a phase-it period for the age change to be effective, so that current KPH parents and kids may get the most out of their investment in equipment.
    We have passed the following amendment to the KPH age change.

    "Effective for the 2007 season only, drivers may not compete in the KPH class after the end of the racing season in which they turn 17 years of age. Effective for the 2008 season and beyond, drivers may not compete in the KPH class after the end of the racing season in which they turn 16 years of age."

    Kristi-

    Thank you to you and the Pro Commission!! The Phase-in period should give the kids more time to prepare to move up to other classes, both mentally and $$$. I know it will give us time to get Brennen moved up and Baylee moved in to KPH.

    On a side note, thank you for the well wishes! I am doing 100x better. If I could get rid of the bile from coming up in my sleep I would be better, but I'll take the loss of pain for now. Brad will be having knee surgery next week Wed. the day after his 40th Birthday. He blew his Maniscus(sp). He also has a torn ACL but the Dr. thinks he's had it for awhile, maybe 20 years. Wrestling in college was hard on his knees. Hope all goes well in Florida, we'll be thinking of all of you!

      Kristi;

      Way to go. I really hate to make any more comments about anything since Brandon thinks I have been irrelevant for the past 50 years, but this is very good action on someones part. Since I am already irrelevant as previously mentioned, perhaps the commission in it's wisdom could publish an agenda BEFORE the annual meeting of the subjects to be discussed, especially ones such as this that are bound to stir controversy, and many of these kinds of problems could be overcome, as the membership and other interested parties would have a chance to voice opinions before, instead of after the fact. Input from the people who elect the commissioners surely couldn't hurt. It might even make some of the commissioners who have been there a while lives a little easier, as I know some of them are bound to feel somewhat unappreciated after the controversies the last several years. Thats what happens when actions are taken without input from the people who will be affected, especially if done in the name of safety so as to eliminate a vote of the membership.

            I think it's a wonderful thing the PRO commisioners listened and reacted. We are all working together and that is a GREAT thing!
