          The girls B'Day

Steve, Tell the girls happy birthday for me. I know I'm a day late. I'll be in the boat shop after work tomorrow night around 8pm.

As for the cold. It's Gods way of telling us it's time to repair and build Boats and motors. Spring is Coming.

It's 19 in sunny Oklahoma...although it's night...high today is the 19 we have now! Bought steel for the trailer overhaul...boat's painted and numbered, almost ready for Alex. Northwind and skim of snow would make it tough to run on the lakes...but the desire is there.

For you northern types... Japonica and Forsythia are blooming here in northern Oklahoma, so spring's headed your way about as fast as is the sun.

              Icy Night time mountain biking

Drank Beer and rode outside for about two hours. Camp fire was nice. cook one side /rotate. pugsly bikes, 4" tires go thru snow pretty good. no lights allowed on trail though.

Sorry my reply took so long, I just unthawed slightly. The drive to pick up the sled hood and back never went above 4 degrees on the car thermometer.

It reminded me of the scene from the classic movie caveman where he is taking a leak and it turns to icycles instantly.

Winternationals are a distant, warm, memory for me as my position was eliminated on Friday. They decided to let me know after 7 months of being laid off.

Watch out for #20 today, he toyed with the "kids" in the Busch race yesterday.

twas low teens here in the Sunny South. . .

This after a day this past week in the low 60s. Problem here in Northern VA is that when Congress quits talking for the weekend the temp drops like a rock without all that hot air from DC.

                    Steve,

And you guys wonder why I have an F on my boat? It's a balmy 30 in Atlanta this morning with a high of 40.

I remember those cold Febuary's when I was a kid. We used to live outside of Madison in Sun Prairie when I was in Kindergarten and 1st grade. We had a three week stretch once when the high temp was 20 below.

With the "new" wind chill, we have not been above-20 for four days.

Warbs- the "ANTI-puckermeter" is used for measuring this type of weather.

For those who don't know, imagine the face you make going into the fisrt turn left hand clenched, head turned slightly because you don't know if you have enough room and you know you are going in way to hot and heavy, with only one eye slightly open hoping for the best. That is what it is like to walk outside this time of year.

                        -------------------------------------------------
Record lows -27 degrees sat morning. With these temps we won't see soft water till June.

Larry, you ran so hot last year the ice should melt in front of your boat all winter

This sun burn from the Lake Placid, FL race really hurts.
(Note to self, wear sun block next time.)
