    tach

DigaTron sent me a tach that senses a magnetic pick up. You glue a small magnet to the flywheel, and place the transducer nearby . Works great. Ask for a few magnets so u can glue them on diffent motors.

G Stillwill Rick we never tried it yet on the 80 but will this weekend on Matts at Milleville and I will let you know Sunday evening. I know the kart guys are using them on the Briggs which I think still has a mag system. Right now Matt uses one of the old Digitron DT-6E which works great and Digitron still services them.

George did the mycron 3 work on the yamato 80? How about on a 302 have you tried that?

There was a display model only. There were none being used at this year's Nationals.

Did they even test run one out there so the west coast racers could see it run?

Nope. Just a display model to see. Would have been nice to see in action - it does looks like a neat motor. I'm sure its much lighter than the Y80. Not sure how folks will respond to its price tag, though

Well, Seeing the cost of the motors and boats rise rapidly since I stopped in 2000 I cant imagine the price. Close or More then the Tahatsu?

                    Just a bet here.....

The Sidewinder.....Limited production, even in full swing, and unlike alot of folks, I believe businesses have an obligation and right to make a profit...So,

The target price is around 4000.00 from what Ron said. You will also be able to buy just the powerhead and it bolts to the old tower if you have one.

Wow! That's not a bad price considering this...Say you got an OMC A motor, and it needs a gear foot....you will drop $1,200 right there....

But, the skeptical side of me says if they want to make money it's got to be higher than that. We shall see!

The same company sells you your gearbox for your OMC. Maybe you can get a discount if you buy both at the same time ? Who knows.

                            Dave:

I gotta whole bunch of stuff to pay for before considering a hotrod, but it is refreshing to know that there is going to be an alternative to a Merc. Sid that, even the Merc will dance around $3,000 with it's gear foot....

Before solid motor mounts and honing. I believe touching the ports is still illegal.
