Scaling from the manual the OA height of the 302 is about 38.7" from top of gas tank handle to bottom of skeg. The "vertical" distance from rear corner of clamp bracket at 90 degrees to the centerline of the prop shaft is about 15.25". To determine engine height on your boat and to meet the APBA rules put the engine on the transom and set prop shaft level with the bottom using in or out angle adjuster then measure vertical distance of prop shaft center to boat bottom. Adjust up or down with shims to meet spec. Then test and see if you can cool the engine if not lower it, adjust angle in or out, play with props they matter, tune condition, fuel, etc.
This assumes you will race APBA if not can run engine deeper and loose some performance.
