Camden NC Race?

Is there any chance of a spring race at Camden NC?

It does not look like we will be able to race at Camden, NC this year. The new landowner is doing a lot of work on the property in preparation for building a new house where the old cabin used to sit. He has bulk-headed the shoreline and the smaller house with the kids swing set is to be torn down to make a driveway to the new house. We will pass along new information as we receive it.

Divisionals??

Any thoughts where we will host the Divisionals if Camden is out?? I believe it is our turn to have them in our neck of the woods........

Seems like we go through this every year with Camden, sure we all had a good time there but maybe its time to forget about it and move on. This is just my two cents, Im not looking to start a big issue over this.

There is a chance of future racing at Camden, but probably not any time soon. A new pit area would have to be developed over on the field we previously used for parking & camping. I guess that would probably mean no camping. The owners gave Herbie permission to do as he pleases with the undeveloped shoreline along the field.

Monroe Bay at Colonial Beach is a possibilty for a race site. Sean Meade and I both made contacts there and there is interest from the town, several businesses & the fire department; but the locals have rejected the previously proposed race course placement (across the bay instead of along the bay) and pit area (campground across the bay from town). They want the pit area on the town side so they can see the boats on the shore and the course set along the bay for better viewing.
