As per the Chamber:
Riverbration – Kittanning Boat Races
Canceled for August 14, 15 & 16, 2020
Out of an abundance of caution during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Alle Kiski Strong Chamber and the Riverbration Committee has canceled the Kittanning Boat Races scheduled for August 14, 15 & 16, 2020.
With the safety and well-being of our community, vendors and racers at the top of our minds, we felt this was not the right time to have this type of large-scale event. This decision comes after careful consideration by the Chamber as well as the Riverbration Committee and the responsibility to follow guidelines that have been set forth for social distancing and limited attendance. We feel it is best to hold off at this time and focus on coming back strong in 2021.
We’re heartbroken that this is the reality we’re facing this year and we are not alone. Across the country chambers and event organizers are being faced with impossible choices. We are still facing many unknowns and uncertainties as we look ahead. Under the current health circumstances, it would be irresponsible for us to proceed. By making this decision, we are standing with other communities in the area that have canceled their events.
Our local businesses and nonprofits need your support more than ever to get through this challenging time. Please continue to show your support and remember we are all in this together and will get through this together.
