    Now that recreational pot is legal in several states what are the official positions regarding use at boat races, APBA, USTS, NBRA.

      I agree APBA GS Rule 15 covers it. Kind of...

      If I suspect racer is possibly impaired. How are we as officials supposed to test someone? I would think most officials don't have a breathalyzer at the race site.

      Let's say it's something other than Alcohol. No way we are capable of testing for that.

      Only way I can see that we as officials can determine if someone is impaired is, call the local Police/Sheriff and have them come do a field sobriety test.

        Just because some states are legal...you still can not drive high, work high and race high..... This should not even be a question.

          There is no difference now then there was 30 years ago. About 1/5 of those that race like to smoke pot. Most are responsible and don't smoke before racing.

          Morning breathalyzer testing should be APBA's biggest concern...
