  • New A Hot Rod Engine Question

Are the Hot Rod engines going to be the new A engines for the future? Where can you buy one?
Will the OMC engines be running for a few years or be gone? How does the hot rod engine speeds compare to OMC or Merc engines?

Anybody? Thank You, just trying to plan future alittle. I think I have a handle on the B class.

I just saw the prototype powerhead for the new "Hot Rod" and yes It will also be introduced as a A in the future. They first need to tackle the B motor first so you got some time before they get to A in about 5 years than a C motor soon there after

        New Champion motors...........

Had the pleasure of talking with Ron at Lake Placid and saw the pics of the new motor. There has been alot of thought and machine work to develop this engine. Hap Mulvany was once the owner of Champion, an outstanding machinist and set-up man, and I know he would have been proud of the work Ron has done. We had planned to go over and see Ron and his baby. Shortly before we were to leave, Hap passed away. I think he would still be at Ron's shop taking all this in, and think how to make the next generation faster. By what I've seen, I don't think the speed is going to be a problem. There will be plenty there.

Thanks Guys, I read the 2006 rule book and they said the motor could be trial used this year 2006 and 2007 it would be in. I just never heard about the "A" Hot Rod until I saw the rule book. I saw the "B" block and it's beautiful.
