  • Winter Nationals Social events?

    Any thing Planned Yet?
Team J has enough leftovers from the 2004 nats to have another "LEMMIE" party. Fishing has been bad, but I could bring my cooker for a pot luck dinner one night. Had a fish fry at a club race two years ago. was fun.

"Flounder", you have been appointed the pledge representitve to the social committee. "GREAT" what do I have to do?

    Fish Fry

If you are going to have a fish fry do it on Friday evening.
Don't compete with the local sponsers on Saturday.

The Kiwanis will also be serving at the Driver's Party on Saturday night. You get 1/2 a chicken, coleslaw and another side (think it is beans) for .....drum roll....
    $5.50 each.

        OH yeah

I'm sure they will be overwhelmed. I recommend "Snapper Sandy" a wonderfull little dish. just wondering if anything else is planned? Don't remember, are the pits "DRY"?
can't do an entire party but will help with one. I was thinking WED or THUR nite. Any way keep me posted.
these things are the best part of the race IMHO. Anyone remember Jack Lehman? he had a pretty Hedlund that always ended upsidedown as as buffet table. I have seldom gone hungry at a race anywhere.
This could be a new thread. best bbq race.

I think Ed is out today, so I will answer this one.
Right now we are in negotiations to use

          TUNKS!

As the banquet headquarters!!! Saturday Night.

Everyone will get a taste of this renowned restaurant.

Keep your fingers crossed that this works out. If not, we have a back up plan and it is near the race headquarters. Either way, one of the evenings you will need to plan on Tunks.

            Tunks

The owner of Tunks loves boat racing I heard. I even think he is a relative of one of the LA racers down there, and sponsors some of the NBRA races down there.

Lil Doc M, maybe you know ?

The "tentative" social events are being planned. Ed will post as soon as everything is set in stone. A teaser is this:
              Tunks, Thursday evening.
Saturday Evening, Banquet at Clarion with super food and nice awards.

Friday, free for all in the pits?

                Activities

We're working on it but Connie has got it pretty much right.

Thursday: We are negotiating with Tonks for a driver's meeting and party.

Friday: Still in the planning stages. Suggestions welcomed.

Saturday: Championship Banquet and Awards Ceremony at the Hotel.
Price will be around $15/head w/out alchohol and $25/head with although we're still negotiating.

Sunday: Records Awards Ceremony: possibly back at Tonks or some other location.

                Ed Hearn.
