I think we need to get the Indian casinos to build a stadium like that to race in.

                    Wandering Too

I know Wartinger raced OSY over in Japan, but not in the stadium/betting scale.

Ric M, hows about you??? Have you, do you know of anyone from the US racing in this format over in Japan??

I think Bob Wartinger has been over to Japan to race.

                              Gents,
I went to one of these races way back in 1970 when I was a pilot in the Marines and spent some R&R time in Japan. At that time the boats were actually a "fleet" that were all owned by the same corporation..It may have been the stadium itself ? The drivers were assigned their rigs just before the start of the race in a lottery. I don't recall if they were allowed to "personalize" the set-up. They were "employees" much like jockeys in horse racing. The boats were supposed to be evenly matched and the betting was actually on the drivers. I remember that they weren't as fast as my old BU Rinker with a 20H. The course was very short and the action was pretty intense. Lots of chine banging and the boats looked heavy/industrial.
