  • USTS Mechanics Weekend

    Hello all,

As many of you know, we are arranging a mechanics weekend in Elkhart, IN February 23rd & 24th. This class is not limited to just USTS members and is a free class (there may be a small fee to cover lunch). Its purpose is to bring the racing community together to learn from the "experts" and make sure everyone is ready to hit the ground running for the 2019 season. We will touch on subjects such as gear cases, carburetors, engines, race rig maintenance, etc. Please feel free to bring any equipment you would like help on. Now is the time to get any of your questions answered so you're not sitting watching everyone go into the first turn without you. We will be putting together a quick reference guide which will include a decimal equivalent, chart, drill tap chart, engine tear down sheet, lower unit set-up sheet, at the lake testing sheet, and many more. There will also be machinery on site.

If you have any topics that would like covered, please feel free to reach out and we will get this added to the agenda.
Rooms - Holiday Inn Express & Suite Elkhart-South (There will be a room block under US Titles Series set up)

Flights - South Bend International Airport, Chicago O'Hare/Midway, Kalamazoo Battle Creek International Airport

Address & Map - 4540 Pine Creek Road, Elkhart, IN 46516

Please make sure to RSVP all who will be in attendance so we will have an accurate head count for planning meals, groups, materials, etc. You can reach out to Amy Nydahl or Derek Gesler - mnfab1@yahoo.com.

The mechanics class will be free to all. However, we would he happily accept donations

If you are interested in going faster in ANY class of outboard racing, you should attend this class. Some of the sharpest engine, boat and propeller guys in the US are going to be there instructing. The class is aimed at late model GRM, VRP and Konney motors, but will have valuable lessons on ALL types of outboard racing. Send Amy and Derek a note letting them know you are coming.

If you have a problem motor, gear-case, propeller ( sorry Craig) bring it and work on it.

If your motor has jets and you really don't know what you have, bring them. We will have reamers from .080" to .160" and pin gages. You can build yourself a set of precision jets.

There are two vans heading out from Ct., if your looking for a ride contact Dave Jones or Mike Schmidt.

    Thanks

    Michael

Did you tell them it was for the USTS Mechanics Seminar? I setup the hotel back in December with the District Manager. I can try and get in touch with him to see if he can move you to the other hotel so you are with everyone else. Its the same hotel just different branch so they should be able to move you.
