When this was first posted I first thought about Runabout's. Here in the East it seems like most of the guys are old Runabout Drivers. So it would be neat to get them back out on the water. Maybe cut it down to a 2 lap Dash and not even worry about the boat count in that class. Just get them out there

I like the idea, but I'm not sure APBA would go for it, or that schedules would accommodate another class, at least not without getting rid of another. We've seen the mess ensues any time anyone suggests paring down the number of existing classes.Dane Lance

I still have both my 30h's I'm ready for Millville 1 more time if you need to borrow 1.

Good idea John. To get the ball rolling - generate some interest with those in your area and put it on the schedule as a "Special Event". That way you run it covered by APBA rules and insurance and the best part is the only approval you need is from those in your club. You don't need APBA, SORC, or Hydroracer.net approval. Just do it and share the results with us later.

I would like to do this but SOA (Seattle Outboard) is too big. We run Stock, Mod and Pro and can just barely get through our schedules now. We may be able to do it at 1 race. We have a local class we call Novice C (precursor to 300ss) which shows your idea can work. But other parts of the country may need more classes, Masters C may help.

This has been an interesting discussion but Bill I think has the right idea. For areas that need more registrations try Masters C as a local class. Maybe in time it will gain traction and then the SORC can take action. In Region 10 we tried Novice C as a local class and in time 300ss resulted at the National level. Thanks for all your ideas.

Don't we already have a class for this? I thought it was called 300SSH. I thought that is what this class was for. New drivers, drivers moving to this class before 20 & C, and people that just want to race and not mix it up in 20 & C.
Now one could argue, that I would much rather go into the corner with twelve 20's, then twelve 300's..."Ask anyone, I have no friends. I do have some people that put up with me and mostly because they like the rest of my family"
