  • Bud Wiget

I just learned from Ralph Desilva that Bud is no longer with us. Ralph sent a Christmas greeting to Bud and received a letter from an attorney that he passed away on October 22.

No other details are available at this time. Ralph just received the news.

    Old Friend

My dad and Bud Wiget were friends since the 40s. Bud and Mizi moved from California to Florida in the late 50s or early 60s. He always had top notch epuipment and was one of the greats in his day. He also ran inboards in the 60s and was a top runner. Great man and great boat racer. Bud and my dad had some great races back in the day. Tim Small

      Widget, Neal, Kincaid

Probly gave my age away, since we know that , i want to say Mr. and Mrs. Widget were perfect represenitives, to the boat racing community.

I met them in Sd Ca Mission Bay in late 70s, back in the days of the likes of Mickey Remund and other greats.

They launched off the beach, were running 150 hydro, for what thats worth, chevy 11 modas as in La cucaracha. (record ,holding 150,oh what ever they call them now hydro's).
Apba has conveniontly forgotten the speeds they ran then.
      Anyways, thats what i know.
