The race that has it all. August 18-20. Prizes$900, trophies, tow money$6,000, free dinner at Packard Museum, free play at Casino, music, $600 drawing for Csh drivers, beautiful race facilities (I've seen a few, and this is the best), and a big screen TV door prize. Average attendance of race fans is 3,000. Ray Rodda is our announcer, Jack Stotts is our referee ,Terry Long and Mark Buzzard man the Seadoos, Grove Fire Dept. will man the OBRA rescue boat, Monkey Iland fire dept, mans second rescue boat, ambulance provided by the Grove Hospital, PA system by Debois Sounds, bleachers by the City, tents by OBRA, concessions by PC concessions, port a potties by Johonny on the spot, multiple hook ups by City of Grove, boat traffic control by Grand River Dam Authority and car traffic control by Grove Police Dept. and Emergency Management. Support for advertisements comes from Grove Tourism and Convention Bureau provided newspaper and Radio spots. Vernon Barfield and Rick Miller do a radio show and radio will do a 3 hour remote on site. Race boats will be placed around town to generate interest. Our major sponsor is the Cherokee Grove Casino. The pits are a ten , best in the country. Entry fee is $15/class. NBRA day fee is $15. NBRA weekend fee(non members is $40. Full membership is $85. Our officials are experienced crew of Patsy Ruth, Melissa Backward and Tara Anderson they will be using the Nelson digital clock. We will race all NBRA classes and there will be combine classes and step ups to get as many of boats on the water as we can. We will find a place for you to race. We start at 1:00 and finish at 5, and if we have time we may run into Sunday's schedule to get people home sooner.

What to do in Grove, Ok? Grove has one of the largest antiquities villages with 100 log cabins and building full of antiques, called HarBer Village. $8. Admission fee. At 930am on Sunday, I will conduct a tour of Lendonwood Gardens, a eight acre botanical garden that I built in 1995, admission is $5/ person children free. The Cherokee Casino is open 24 hrs per day. The race site Wolf Creek Park is at 16 th street and hyway 59, in town and conveniene to shopping. There is hook ups for motor homes on a limited basis.

For you that have not been to Wolf Creek Park, the Video that is on the front page of NBRA's website was taken at Wolf Creek Park. Room for 600 race trailers and 6 ramps, built at a cost of 2.2 million for the Bass Master Classic which has been held there 2 times.

Dean, it really helps to have the attitude your race has value. For the spectators and for the economic impact when you have people come to town. It is much easier done if you live and trade with those that can make the event a success. I've put this on 19 years, maybe time for someone to take my place.

Eager beavers worked last night to set out the course. Of course Jack Stotts will have to give it his blessing. Our goal is to have the smoothest race course as possible. That's not easy when you have 12 CSH on the water. We are pleased that so many trailers are coming. Now, let's make it SAFE.

You should video tape the race and put it on YouTube so we all can watch it.... and the winner of the TV can watch it on their new Big Screen. If you do be sure to give us the link.

This has always been a GREAT race week-end. Good competition in all ran classes. Doc does a fantastic job promoting . I made travel plans for the wrong week-end this year. Would have loved to run the flags one more time. Always next year.

We're set for a great day of racing, 5 mph winds from of direction that doesn't affect the water. Yesterday for testing we had two sets of MET fireman manning the lift rescue boats and two on the water at all times Seadoos. No driver or crew had to volunteer. This real professional racing. Drivers loveed the $15 entry fee. The facilities are fantastic with plenty of room with parking lot for 800 cars and trailers. The city placed workers around to control the traffic. Teams from 15 states are here. Sorry if you couldn't make it.
