It's still on the books, but it was not run in 2016. One class that did run at a few races is the B class. It is called 350 in APBA. We(Rick Morris) built a horn much like the Bauer pipe and adapted it to a exhaust plate. We put it on a Mercury 25xs lower unit and ran our very good 400 props. It was one mile slower than our C mod rig. Since no one else built one, the class flopped. Some years ago this class was popular and very fast. A much better and popular class is to modify the 80.

Thought you had a couple racers running the Yamaha-ha and the 31 cube OMC ?
Mathews 31 OMC looked fast in the vid above (kinda had a miss-fire in other vids that day)

First flight with miss-fire. (But still finished 2'nd that heat) > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efigULVf_go
Never heard any more on Mathews OMC or Yamaha.
When you tested the 25MOD Yamato on the Merc foot did you compare lap time or just straight top end speed ?
Did you step up to C-MOD with it ever or too busy in that class ?
I think I finally got a decent boat for my 202D with the Bayer pipe and pro foot.
I have a can on the megaphone so should be legal in your C-MOD.......
Also my C-MOD Wizard (30H).
Are you guys running a 25XS in B-Stock ?...... I see 2015 points / award for B-Stock....... Did you run 25SSH in APBA last year at all ?
Any NBRA races planed East of the Mississippi ?Last edited by STEVE FRENCH; 03-23-2017, 03:57 AM.

The 25xs has not been run. I'm opposed to it running in a class of 20ci engines when it has 25 ci. On a mile course it's way faster than most hot rods, OMCs, and the Y80.

Thought it odd that it is the engine in B-Stock / NBRA......
Couple 25SSH rigs see 73-74 MPH......Faster than the C-Stock class / APBA .

Steve, the Mercury 25XS is a legal engine in NBRA's B Hydro & B Runabout in Stock variants and in 25 Modified Hydro & C Runabout as a Stock or with allowable modifications. There is no B Stock class in NBRA. Just B. The only total stock class we race is C Stock Hydro. Most all other classes with the exception of only a few are classes that have legal stock and modified engine choices. So when looking at the engines and weights page of the rule book. Engines listed as Stock are the stock options for said class and the engines listed as Super Stock are the modified options.
In B class on a hydro.. it will compete against modified Yamato 80s, Merc and OMC B1s, Hot Rod Bs, etc.
In B class on a runabout.. it will compete with all above engines as well as the addition of the stock Yamato 102 - 302. (And any stock variant of a legal "modified' is always allowed to race legally as well)
Also.. we still have the 31 OMC. Toyed around with it a bit in Clarksville, Arkansas last year in C Runabout. Runs pretty decent still. Just been focusing on other classes a bit more. The engine is my Uncle's and he no longer owns a dedicated rig for it outside of a smaller runabout. But I'm sure we will still bring her out to play from time to time when we can swing it.Last edited by johnml390; 03-25-2017, 12:13 AM.
