Why is the race rescheduled, I'm sure that will probably mess up some peoples vacation

We are asking the Cherokees to sponsor the race. Our request was for $10,000. The Chief of the Cherokees told me they needed more time to raise the money. The new casino called Cherokee Grove just open their doors. Our community is a summer vacation area and businesss picks up in the summer. The casino should do better in the summer and we have a better chance if we give them the summer to show some growth. We hope we will have a sponsor if not, we will have to do like Alan Owens does "take it out of the back pocket". Or walk up and down the street , like Tom Winners does. We hope this does not inconvenience our drivers. Grove is a unique place and not many places with its facilities. We do have problems with high water during June.

This should have been discussed at the national meeting. Schedule changes now are not fair to the people who have already put in for action and can not change it. Also, arbitrarily changing dates with out discussing it with the commissioners and/or the voting membership is not a sound practice and will grow dissent among the membership.

My comment to this is situation change, and would you rather change dates or just cancel the race? Doc is a tireless promoter cut him a little slack.

Yea, just got a sponsorship from the Cherokee Grove Casino and we will have $6,000 in tow money. $ will be spent on advertising because we must promote the race. More on the race later, I have to go open a beer.

Thunder on Wolf Creek, August 18-19-20. Testing noon Friday till 5pm, testing 9am till 11am, Racing 12:30pm, till 5:00. Racing Sunday 12:30pm till 4:30. High point Trophy and prizes. 2.4million facilities, .6 mile course.
