  • Cutting edge boat design from the UK

The following is an extract from the BBC website:-

    "''Shed boat' artist takes Turner
    - Simon Starling, the artist whose work includes turning a shed into a working boat and then back into a shed, has won the £25,000 Turner Prize....He found his shed - a wooden shack - in the Swiss town of Schweizerhalle. After turning it into a boat, he paddled it seven miles down the Rhine to Basel, where he rebuilt it....."

Now, who says us Limeys don't have a sense of humour....$40,000 prize money! But then again, may be this guy is onto something. It could be a new class for the future - the big question is, would they be called outboards or outhouses!!!!

PS - apologies to any 'real' artists out there....

      Our friends in the North

      Hey Dan

Thomas is building sheds & outhouses if he has any sense......!!!

Seriously, our Finnish Friend has been very quiet of late, alhough I did hear from him recently.

You have to remember that our Scandivanian friends are all full of energy and enthusiasm in the Summer, but come the long dark Winter, all of this goes out of the window. I'm sure that some of them even hiberate as you do not hear from them until the thaw......
