Ok here is the deal. In the early Spring there is Snow Melt run off and Rain that fill up the rivers and lakes. At this Boat Launching Ramp at Lake Sammamish there are Finger Piers... four of them between each launching ramp. So on this day the water was about 1" to 2" over the finger piers. So I was kneeling on one of the piers.

Like J-Dub said, we have tested there a million times. In the early 60's, before the racing season, the whole boat launching area was taken up by race boats. It looked like a boat race!!!

Now we are not encouraged to test there.... But we still can.

H ello underwater forest explorers! Everyone's Travel Club set out to see if the legend was true: a sunken forest in nearby  Lake Sammamish . Washington  Legend  has it that a thousand year old...

Not only a sunken forest is there, just north of the forest there is evidence of the earth quake the caused the forest to land slide into the lake. Running across the lake east to west is a 20 ft high step change in the floor of the lake, the fault line of the quake!
