Mercury 20H Ignition Conversion

I've written about this before. Based on info I got here on HR I converted my 20H ignition to one similar to the Sidewinders using the OMC CD2 system.

The PDF documents I am attaching show what I did. APBA Modified has accepted this for 250Mod. APBA has stipulated that only Ed Runne is recognized as qualified to do the flywheel modification.

I am curious how many of you will be seriously interested in doing this. If you want to know how much this will cost I think it will be in the range of $250 to $500 depending on how much you can do yourself and whether you buy new or used.

Here is some help on the power pack and coil. Shop used on Ebay or use this for new CDI Electronics parts

The CDI power pack part numbers for NO LIMIT units are 113-2285 and 113-4783

now here is a good stator, unfortunately it does not have the retainer ring or screws with it, maybe the seller could add them if asked

Contact info to get flywheel machined and adapter collar and coil/power pack mount brackets ?

...... I have 3 extra uncut flywheels avail $30 each + flat rate priority box to Runnie..... You pay machining and return..... Bought 4 from Weigle Bros Marine Franklin Pa. Any word if a kit to be avail?........

I will look to see if I have a crankcase I can send for mock up.

I was with Ed Runne at Berwick, he has a 2 flywheels to turn down now (1 yours Steve that I just gave him) and he has designed a mount that will attach his SideWinder ignition plate with rubber isolation on the right hand side of the 20H. If someone is interested in that they should contact him

still need someone to make mag adapter and clamps....... Thanks for your work on this MIKE !

Should benefit ANY two cyl Merc owners..... Even KG-4 / 7, Mark 15, Mark-20 fish'n , mark-28, etc.to replace the Phelon and even troublesome Skintilla ignition..... Just need to find the small crank taper like KG-4 or the larger taper 20H / Mark-25 size tapered OMC flywheel and a stepped two size key The small taper cranks and flywheels might have same dimension ?.....
I've seen both on E-Bay reasonable...... Just need to know what HP your L@@K'n for !

This should cure ALL point mag issues !!.......

Mike, Appreciate your work on this but if nobody willing to make a run of the stator adapter collars and clamps say 25 or 30 then your work and blue prints are without merritt ?

Too bad because this is the cure !

I sent e-mail to Ed to ship my flywheel s but their going on the shelf for this season unless a machinist can beb found.

Let me see what I can figure out on them. Do you just need the turned work done or the angle brackets to mount the box and coil as well?

Looking through the stuff would it make more sense to have the OMC stator locked onto the adapter and then tighten the adapter from the bottom by having the 1/2" plate be threaded. What do you think about that?
