    -this is one that was FS in NJ 10yrs ago.
    Note the absence of any transom 'box extensions'.
    A fellow in Ottawa ON had one with a Johnson KR on it back then also.
    ps; -I would not buy a used boat from either of these two guys

        Based on those dimensions for the time period, it would be a class A boat whether for a stock or alky engine. By making the transom set in, with the boxes on each side of the motor board, makes a short boat act longer. Neal did the samething in the mid-1950's. So this could be a boat built for a Merc (based on the transom markings) once the Merc's were approved in the Outboard (now PRO) division. We always have the problem that someone changed the transom plate once used with a Merc later on.
        It is certainly a Fillinger based on the construction details.
