  • High and lows of 2015

The high point of 2015 has to be Jacks new Fabbro 25 SSR boat . From the start of the project to the last race @ Tabor City this has by far been the best new project in a while . From the initial talks with Chris about the NEW 25 hull he had in mind, to the delivery of the rigged boat at Jessup this has been a pleasure . The Quality of fit and finish on the glass work rivals and bests many of the upper end brands of consumer boats I have dealt with in the past 25 years. Any time you can build a glass boat with out a rub rail you have achieved a level of quality not often seen in a Jell cote boat . The boat has performed very well from the start and as Jack develops his skill behind the wheel and I get a little more hp out of the 25 XS we should be at the front with the like of the Nuch and Affholter entries. Looking forward to 2016 with this new package - Also a 300 ssh entry will be on the list of things to dial in with the start of '16. The low spot of '15 was "decal Gate" another story for another time , with more to come .. Race well in '16.

The low point was Eli's 1st place at Thompson; ruined when I set the prop shaft 1/8-inch high. Ugggh! Loosing the gas tank at Crystal Lake wasn't much fun, either. Thanks to the Patrol Boats that towed him in 4 times in one weekend.

The high point was Eli's 2nd place AXH finish (by 1/2 a boat length) at Tabor City with several older and wiser drivers in the mix.

Next year will be the year of Quin being a rookie JSH pilot and Eli gaining more confidence in the new O'Conner.

      Good stuff

My High was pulling a pipe for the first time in 125cchydro
At Thompson followed by a win in ash.
My low was melting a hole in the piston of the 125 hydro. It wouldn't have hurt so much if it was my engine. With some good help i got back out again on sunday.

      Happy new year

My High point was winning the 1st heat in the APBA Pro Nationals in 175cch. Lowest point was flying out of the boat 10 minutes later in the 2nd heat..lol

My high point was running Saturday at Top O in Broges borrowed A boat with a KG 4 and running side by side with Mark K. and my father on our way to the beach. My father ran as welling the Switzer with the Kg7. For the race, we decided to meet at the end of the river so when and if we broke down, we would be together as we had no pit crew. My low point, the KG4 conking out at breakers, and my father waving as he continues on, only to have him break down 7 miles later! Considering that's a low point, it still brings a smile!
When it comes to boat racing and the wife, it's easier to ask for forgiveness than it is permission, and of course I spent a number of nights sleeping on the couch!
