  • A Message from the Family of Logan Sweeney

Just got off the phone with Jim and Amy - posting this on their behalf. They will be reading this thread and can share well-wishes with Logan.
    Sept 8, 2015

To our boat racing family: The Sweeney's would like to thank all of the boat racing community for their concern and generosity over the past couple of days. It's comforting to know Logan has so many friends who love and care for him. The outpouring of concern has been overwhelming! The surgeons here at Geisinger are the best anywhere, and while Logan's injuries are serious the doctors are very positive about his prognosis and expect a full recovery. Logan will have a rough couple of months but we will be able to bring him home within the next couple weeks.

It is times like this that we are reminded of how tight knit our boat racing family truly is. We will try to keep everyone updated on Logans' status over the next couple days.

    Thank you all!

    Sincerely,
    Jim and Amy Sweeney

    UPDATE - SEPT 9, 2015

    From Jim:
Great news...Logan was moved out of the ICU into a private room today! Docs and nurses very happy with progress and they have him up moving around as the pain meds are being decreased...

Logan is in good spirits and mom/dad been reading the encouraging messages. Thanks for everyone's support... It means a lot to our family!

Jim and Amy, our daughter and her husband work at Geisinger there in Danville, PA. Both are Physical Therapists. Our daughter is Kristin Smiley and her husband is Brett Smiley. I'll call them tomorrow and let them know you are there. Glad to hear that Logan is doing well. Jack Stotts

                        Logan,
We were very upset to hear about your accident. It sounds like you have been in good hands through the entire situation and we've heard that the doctors at Geisinger have been great. We are thinking about you and will be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. We hope to be able to see you this fall when you are feeling better. Take care and let us know if there is anything we can do.

                            Logan:

Hang in there! I'm sure the doctor's are doing all they can and are working on your behalf. However, the greatest gift comes from those two parents of yours. They are the ones who will see you through all of this.

                            Hope to see you soon....
