    OK,will a 102,prop mounted,motor mounted on my hydro on a trailer,backed into the water,prop half exposed,pump enough water to fine tune the carb?.

    If it were mine, I would purchase, or make if you are handy, a "flushing plug" that would allow the use of a hose to provide the water. This would not put a load on the motor like a test prop would though and would probably require one of those (test prop) also. I am sure someone with a 80/102/302 will come on and help you solve the problem.

    The problem with the way you want to do it is fluctuating RPM because of a constant load is not on on the motor with a regular prop. not allowing the RPM's to stabilize to facilitate carb adjustment. Get yourself a good test prop, make a lakeside water pump with a bilge pump and have at it. Probably a bilge pump with 10-15 GPM would do it. Use alligator clips to your car battery to run the bilge pump.

    Just one idea, I am sure there are many more. Good Luck

      Open the carb between a turn and a quarter and a turn and an eight. Hook up your tack and speed odometer and make test runs to find the best setting. You will never find it with a test wheel.
