I am wondering.....

What style/brand or who makes the best J runabouts? Any j runabout plans other than the Jackal? Is a j runabout smaller than an ASR?

If you are a j runabout dad or mom PM if you don't want your opinion public.

Jack and I built a Jackal - It was a great project and the boat ran very well. We made modifications to the stern and motor mount to work with the Merc motor, and narrowed the bow. Easy to build. We had great success with a Davids boat in both axr and ash . I feel the smaller Jackel better matches the power out put of the restricted J merc.

We built a jackal for Becky, it was a fantastic boat. Easy to drive and easier to turn, would recommend it all the way especially for a newer driver. She also ran it in ax and a and did very well with it.
