Are steel turnbuckels allowed on steering cables to adjust cable tension?

SS turnbuckles are used in the OPC classes and I/B's.
I am sure they are legal in SO if up to standard and lock wired
It will be the Inspector who calls it .
One in the system would solve many of the issues
we have getting proper tension.
I believe the reason we don't see them is weight and expense
(are OB'rs cheap.....???}

OK, here is what I do not understand. I am working with a 102 with the stock,non folding steering bar. Even with the motor tilted up,you still do not have enough slack to hook/unhook the snaps going to the bar. How are you guys getting this adjustment? I must be missing something[not unusual]

Thanks Guys,I knew there had to be a simple solution,tilting the motor up more by loosening the transom clamps.
