Some great stuff took place, lots of folks showed up and lots of great discussion.

Dave Scott is the new Stock OUtboard VP, I beleive John Webster who has done a great job for many years decided to step down.

I think this is a great opportunity for Dave to put forward his great ideas.

      It was a good time!

I'm not sure the position names, but the pecking order is below.

Dave Scott is the Stock Outboard Chairman
John Greer is the Stock VP
Dave Dalton is the Modified Outboard Rep
      Jim Misener is the Secretary

No major changes that I recall to the outboard side of things as far a rules.

Lots of outboarders in attendance, most I've seen in 15 years.

At the dinner, Gord McCrady Sr was inducted into the CBF Hall of Fame

I believe it is this Brian...

*CBF President: Lise Haineault (first woman president I believe too)
            Vice President National: Doug Overbury
            *Treasurer: Diane Godin
            Secretary: Michel Grondin
            Vice President Racing: Derek Anderson
Vice President Public Relations: Bob Abbott
            Director of Clubs: Lise Haineault

            * Positions that were up for election this year.

Not sure if Lise can/will still hold her position as Director of Clubs since being elected as pres.

The only rule I beleive that was changed is being put through as a safety rule. turn fins on hydroplanes may only be mounted by 1 bolt, or 1 bolt and a shear pin. not by two bolts as some are doing. This is for obvious reasons.

Inadvertantly... this would likely stop a flat turning runabout with air traps from running in the hydro class.

I raced many many laps looking at the back of Gord's ASR. Gord is VERY deserving of this honor! Congratulations Gord! You are one of boat racing's FINEST!

                Gord McRady

Russ; -as u know Gord goes back a ways. Wayne Poapst tells me he met Gord in '55, when he sent Wayne out onto the St Lawrence R. in a KG4H/AU.
Wayne was 'hooked', and they were racing partners ever since. Wayne did the intro at the awards ceromony. I guess he stoped racing about 1990, when the "rice-eaters" were coming in, but he was always there to support 'teekers, and novice racers in Region 2. This is why I think he got the award. 50 yrs of racing, and still at it! He is now building a 30H [he never ran four cyls] with an electric start, and why not. He is twisting my arm to get my C DeSilva, and I may just relent. He wants me to bring one back for him. I thought I would have a pic of Gord, but surprisingly, do not

                  The Award to Gord McCrady

I can think of no one more deserving of the award than Gord but
I have a biased view of course. About 50 years ago I followed my
brother and this young teacher from Brockville from race to race
usually in a VW bug pulling a trailer with a ASH and later my brother's
BSR. We required a crew to push the wheezing VW out of the pits
at Fisher's landing! I thought this was the most exciting time of my life
until a few short years later ( under Gord's supervision ) I started a running ASR with my life long friend Bobby Welland ( BSR ). I spent all of my
races examining the transom of Gord's boat. After a hiatus of 35 years
Gord talked me back into running antique race boats and this fall Bobby
and I pulled on the gear once again at Crystal Lake. We were not the only
antiques there as Dave Curtis was also lured back. There must be some
sort of racing disease out there as My brother Peter is looking for a CSH.
If the epidemic continues Doug and Ray will be out on the course soon!
None of this would have happened to me and my companions without
the help and encouragement of Gord McCrady. Gord is an endless source
of information and enthusiasm. Congratulations on the award Gord, you
deserve it. your friend Michael Rorke

congrats to all the cbf winners and especially gord mcrady. i know gord deserves this in many ways, as a racer and a friend. he has helped me as much as he can to get me into the sport and my dad has spoke extremely highly in how he helped my father decide to go to university to get a degree so he could own the business he has today. not only an extremely talented racer, but also a great man that does his best help others.
                          congrats gord,
