  • Help Finding the Correct Kill-Switch Lanyard

I am trying to buy a kill-switch lanyard with the style of clip pictured here. It is approximately 2" long by 1" wide by 5/16" thick. That is a quarter in the picture for reference. I have looked at various websites including SRP, Lifeline, Portage Bay, Outboard Paradise and even IM'd the boat builder but but so far I am unable to locate one. I even bought the 'universal' lanyard kit from Walmart with seven different style clips and none of them are correct. I'll take the clip by itself or with the lanyard.

Does anyone recognize this style clip and know where I can get one?

That is the clip off the 3 wire kill switch. I got mine from Tom Johnson, TJ. You might have to buy the whole switch to get it.

You can also purchase one from Ric Montoya (RPM Marine - http://www.yamatoracing.com/index.php), a three wire kill switch is about $29 - I believe Ric also sells the clip and lanyard only for less than $10.

Nope! That is a Konig style switch and key. I think they are available again but I can check. I may have a new one in stock, E mail me at Steve77T@aol.com

Steve is right it is a Konig key.
I made one once in about 1/2 hour just before I went to a race when I lost mine. Simple to do! Drill a hole for the switch, counter sink both sides, and drill a smaller hole for the string. Cut it apart liked the photo.
I got that one I made and a couple more and a switch.
Steve is a little closer to you so buy from him, but I still have some used/new.

Curious what type of material you used to make it? I now have a couple leads on one of these but may need to improvise if I get in a pinch someday.

I use a piece of white plastic, Nylon I think, but actually anything would work in a pinch, plywood or aluminum. Very simple to do!
